Asbestos Disposal

Safe & Certified Asbestos Disposal Services.
Asbestos, a type of naturally occurring minerals that was once used for fireproofing and insulation purposes, was declared unsafe hazard by the EPA in 1971 due to its air pollutant properties and associated health risks once inhaled, particularly concerning when disturbed or improperly removed.
Prior to the 1970 asbestos was commonly used in building materials such as siding, roofing, insulation as well as various other product. Once removed, the fibres making up the asbestos tend to become airborne and are often unseen to the human eye. The fibres have typically become disturbed during construction activity including, renovations and demolition.
Friable asbestos can be crumbled or powdered by hand pressure when dry, posing a higher risk of fiber release, while non-friable asbestos is more stable and less likely to release fibers unless damaged or disturbed.
Our skilled and certified professionals are highly competent in handling, encapsulating, removing and disposing of both types of asbestos, in compliance with all Ministry of Environment’s regulations and guidelines.
Exposure to airborne asbestos fibers can result in various health problems, including asbestosis (scarring of the lung tissue), mesothelioma (a rare cancer of the lining of the lungs or abdominal cavity) and lung cancer.
These serious health risks can arise even 10-40 year after contact with them.
