Joe Fuda

President

Joe Fuda is a seasoned finance and operations leader with extensive experience in waste management, recycling, and business development. A CPA and a graduate of the Schulich School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) specializing in Finance and Accounting, Joe has built a solid foundation in financial strategy and operations.

Joe began his professional journey at Magna International, where he worked across the company’s manufacturing global operations in the automotive sector. His role at Magna’s European headquarters focused on business planning for new products and emerging markets, allowing him to develop expertise in financial modeling, business valuations, and joint venture projects. He gained firsthand experience in financial analysis, including discounted cash flow (DCF) models, LBOs, and comparable company analysis. Joe’s time at Magna’s Canadian headquarters involved overseeing SOX 404 compliance, internal audit procedures, and assisting in the preparation of quarterly financial statements.

Following his tenure at Magna, Joe transitioned to PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) as a senior accountant in the Audit & Assurance Group. Joe led audit teams over a diverse range of industries, including real estate, pension funds, oil & gas, mining, construction, retail and manufacturing. His leadership in managing client relationships, coaching junior staff, and ensuring compliance with Canadian GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS, further honed his financial and strategic expertise.

In 2009, Joe co-founded Tuff Recycling and Supply Inc., a waste management and recycling company that rapidly grew from a small startup into one of Southern Ontario’s largest independently owned operations. Under his leadership as CFO, the company expanded its fleet operations from 1 truck and 15 disposal bins to a fleet of 20 trucks and 1000+ disposal bins and expanded its workforce to over 65 employees, utilizing a 40,000 square foot transfer station/material recovery facility. Joe played a key role in managing the company’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash plans and auditing. His efforts in developing a strong management and sales team while being entrenched in daily operations resulted in the procurement of large fortune 500 private and public companies and various municipalities, ranging across commercial, institutional, construction and city contracts. The company was later sold in 2014.

Joe later went on to found Greenway in Toronto, a disposal company based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). As CFO, he has guided the company to achieve strong growth, forging connections with prominent construction firms and building a solid client network that expanded into Ottawa. Joe’s expertise in fiscal management, strategic planning, and operational scalability is instrumental in the company’s growth. His leadership positions Greenway Eco as a trusted provider of large-scale waste management solutions within the GTA. In addition to his work in the waste industry, Joe owns and operates a framing construction company, a labor supply company, and a demolition company.

Through Joe’s newest co-venture, Greenway Ottawa Environmental Solutions Inc., a forward-thinking garbage disposal and environmental services company— Joe’s broad expertise and entrepreneurial drive continue to influence his leadership in the waste management sector, as he looks to further innovate and contribute to the growth of sustainable business and environmental practices. Joe’s deep understanding of the industry, proven record in business growth, and strong relationships with key construction industry players, Greenway Ottawa positions itself as a leader in shaping a more sustainable and resilient future for the Ottawa waste industry.
